The Political Consequences of Public Housing Construction: Evidence from China
This project examines how public housing construction shapes grassroots political participation in urban China. It combines county-level land transaction records with longitudinal household survey data and studies residents’ participation in Residents’ Committee Elections.

This project studies the relationships among housing space per person, housing wealth, inequality, and residential mobility, with attention to nonlinear change across housing development.

Using large-scale citizen–government interaction data, including messages from the People’s Daily Online leadership message board, this project studies the relationship between officials’ historical experience and local government responsiveness.
